Dear all,

After quite a while some of us have been quite tired of seeing fake, misleading, junk, SOG sales on the bay. This thread is FYI and to clarify some listings that may not be phrased correctly or may lead one to misinterpret it. The listing below may not necessarily be fakes.

Please watch out for the following sales:

- SOG pretty folding custom knife Full (Item number: 160382479854, 160382813485, 160382813637) --- FAKE Chinese junk
- Sog Vintage Bowie Stacked Leather Seki Japan Knife (Item number: 400087692029) --- If it really was 21+ years old, it would have come with a leather sheath with 'S.M.CA' instead of a 'EDM.WA' nylon sheath
- SOG Knives Seal Knife 2000 S37-N SOG Tools & Blades (Item number: 280426777486) --- I'm not really sure if this is a Seal 2000 or the Taiwan made 'Seal Knife'. Can anyone confirm?


Chris@SOG, there are 3 listings of FAKE SOG knives for your legal team to handle..

The above information is correct to the best of my knowledge, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Three issues here, I address them in order listed.

1 - I have been seeing those fake SOG knives. If any one ever sees anything like those please report them. There is a link on each page to report listings. It seems to take a while but it does eventually work.

2 - That does look like a 21 year old knife. The sheath does say Edm, WA on it and SOG did move to Edmonds, WA about 20+ years ago. So time might be a little off but it is close.

3 - That is the new SEAL Knife not the Japan SEAL 2000.

Thanks for the reply.

1. I have personally tried reporting them. Seems like the money earned from the listing far outweighs cost the copyright infringement. ie their view is: why remove it unless the original copyright holder complains?

2. No doubt it could be a EDM.WA S1 Bowie, but I am quite certain ALL of the SOG S1 Bowies came with leather sheaths.

3. Looks like one to me!

I reported all the fake "SOG" folders that seller has. Maybe if they get enough they will take notice.
 
Did SOG ever make a SEAL 2000 / or that general configuration without powder coat? All plain edge? Black coated? No SOG logo on composite handle? No markings besides SOG logo on the blade (left side)? I think I have a fake with all the above characteristics, but I'd welcome some more input. Thanks.
