I like the way this shot turned out :)

Great looking pic Brian!

Very good picture to show OAL's, but without having to look at a few threads, what are the names of each and OAL? sorry...

So now that you've handled that Protagonist, what do you think about it? And, do you think it would be passable for a 5 1/2" blade? (TX legal length limit)

Thanks

I love it, and now that I have handled a few of them I NEED one worse than I already did :)

The Woodsman blade is 5-1/2" blade, and it seems the Protagonist is either the same or just slightly shorter.

Thanks Andy! Indoor lighting is definitely not my strong suit, but sometimes I manage to get what I want out of it :)

Thank you. I can give you the names, but someone else at the shop will have to add the overall dimensions.

Top to bottom:

Forager
Protagonist
Rapscallion
Gambler
Sylvrfalcen

Thanks for the info and addl pics! I was secretly hoping it was too big because that is one swweeeet looking knife. I could just stare at these 3 for quite a long time. That middle dessert ironwood one is just something else. I'm also on a patient watch for the perfect Woodsman (for me) too so the comparison pics help also.

I'm seeing a lot of variance in the handle shaping. Although I stand by my initial comments about the Renegade long ago, my Drop Point Renegade was much more pleasing to the eye and the hand. I'm wondering aloud, how much variance there is in the "point" in the handle near the index finger as it is worked and gets rounded as the handle comes together. I like the swell and have come to appreciate it.

Lots of difference between the initial blade and the finished models- a good thing IMO.

I think the bottom black handled one is most appealing to me as the lines are more subtle, much like my Drop Point Renegade vs my Renegade

Thanks Mist on the names...
I'd love to carve a turkey with that Protagonist!

Since the Protagonist has roughly a 5-1/2 inch blade, I can guess that the Rapscallion is roughly the length of the other 4 inch models...but that's about all I got :)

Yes, I could too...and I did... lol. The ironwood handle is really something, but I really love the blade grinds on the bolstered one.

I really like the Maverick handle for blade control, so I wouldn't have minded the more prominent hump on the back, or in front of the index finger. That said, the Protagonist handle feels pretty damn good as is.

Ah ha, I was right :)

Looks like I'm still missing something.

Yup, I'm still wanting a Protagonist very badly, but I need a wooden handled Rapscallion first :) I wanted so bad to shark the one in that photo I posted, but I just couldn't swing it.
