I purchased this the same week I purchased my Large Regular BG-42 Sebenza and have carried it daily since. It was lightly used and had the pocket clip attached, so I used it that way for a while. I then started to make small changes to it and just this weekend polished the thumbstud and backspacer, which were previously blue, to silver.

The changes I made, all on separate occasions, go something like this:

Wet/dry 600 grit sanding of slabs and pocket clip, convex polished edge.

0000 steel wool to slabs and clip, Flitz polish to screw and pivot heads.

Pocket clip insert added.

Pocket clip insert polished with 400/600 wet/dry followed by Flitz polish.

Polished blade, thumb stud, back spacer and slabs (lightly) with Flitz.

Thanks 'mochila!

Rickster,

Lol, seriously!

I do appreciate the complement however.

Very nice, you just inspired me to polish the hardware of my well used small micarta. I don't have flitz however, I suppose simichrome is pretty similar. Has anyone used both?

nevermind,

I think the real benefit with semichrome is that it doesn't leave abrasive behind, not that that is important in this case, as everything should be thoroughly washed before reassembly. Either way, it should polish just fine.

What year did the lockbar cutouts change from how they are on the large to how they are on the small?
