The video quality is not great, I could’t get rid of the flickering and I moved too much, but the subject matter will be very interesting to fans of the Native. This display at the SFO features all variations of the Native design up to about 5 years ago (I think). My favorites are the Native Chief and the abalone inlay concept models. Too bad those never made it to production.

Very nice. The S30V native was my first, and still one of my favorite spydies. It carries like nothing is there, yet in hand the grip is very positive and secure, like a much larger knife. The steel and heat treat are great, the FRN is both functional, light, and good looking.

Love the symmetrical, egg shape when closed, and the sort of primitive look of the blade shape when opened. I don't know what it is but I just love the knife.

great video! thanks for taking the time to film it. i agree the "native chief" would have been nice to see go into production.

Spectacular vid! Thanks for sharing Mr Blonde.

I agree on the Native Chief. Gotta have it. :D

Thanks for the video:thumbup:

I may be wrong, but I was thinking months ago I read(here) that a new Native would be out this year. I may have this mixed up with something else???

edit- I think it was called Native 5 ???

Thanx Wouter.

We've finished the engineering on the new Native and the pilot went well.

Once the new Native is in production, a larger version will not be difficult. Then we'll make the new FRN version and work on a Chief.

You know, Posts like Sal's above make me love this forum more and more each day. I love that you have an ability to be in actual close contact with the makers and ask about future plans. Spyderco and Sal are awesome.
