ex-1 and 860

Benchmade 860 and hogue ex1 came in.

impressed with both. the hogue came with mirror edges but the handle left much to be desired. the 860 surprised me. very big, very solid, very well done and very heavy.

Did you get the 3.5" or 4" Hogue? I think the consensus is that the 3.5" is just a little too small in the handle.

I have a 4" tanto with aluminum handle and it feels good in the hand - but I wouldn't have minded another 1/2" in handle length.

I agree with both Toyz. I've had both and traded the 3.5 but the 4" is one of my favorite production folders and the handle and balance are much better than the 3.5. Mine is a black G-Mascus 4" DP. I find the 4" handle to be plenty roomy and my hands are not small.

I say give the Hogue some time. Great fit and finish, strength, design - has the feel of a semi-custom knife and could give some of my more expensive knives a run for their money.

the hogue is a very nice knife, the handles just. idk lol. its not that its too long or not... just too tall almost? just doesn't quite fit my hand
