...would you call this style of knife?

I was working on something totally different, but it "evolved" into this. I haven't sharpened it yet in case I decide to trash it...

It's O1, 3/16" thick, Azfelia burl on the handle.

Whaddya think? What category would it fall into?

Definitely don't trash it; with the curve of the blade like that it looks as though it would make a nice leather cutting knife!

ive seen knives this style referred to as "persian style" im just basing that on the upswept blade. but it may be the angle of the pic playing tricks on me

+ 1 That looks a little bit like an Old Timer knife I use to own, was one of my favorites but I ended up losing it. I agree also, don't trash it, finish it and sell it.

Sort of a Hybrid B&T/City Knife.. Whatever it is, it looks great! I really like that.

I was thinking caper, too- except I've never seen one with stock that beefy.

Maybe you could skin fossilized game with that. You know, mammoths, giant sloth bears, etc.

Thanks all for the comments, it's really got me thinking about some different directions for this one. I'll probably make a leather sheath for it and post it in the For Sale section.

To summarize, it could be:

1. EDC
2. Bird & Trout
3. Mammoth skinner, HA
