I've read here a couple times about this. Below is an example.

Just got this email in responce to an item I have up for auction on Ebay,

Hello Sir,,
I interested with your item. i'll pay $550.00 and i want you shipp that item
to my shop in Asia. I'll pay for shippment cost. You can charge my credit card
for payment. But i don't want use paypal, bidpay,etc to process my credit card
as payment cause i ever lost much money at there. I can't make check or money
order cause i'm not in US this time and no near office at here to make that. If
you don't have charge machine maybe you can find at your family, friends or the
other who have charge machine for charge my credit card. If you agree with my
offer, i'll give you my credit card info and i hope you can find charge machine
for payment. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank's.

Western Union is the only way to go. Tell them to wire the cash, and watch them disappear.
 
Roger - In the last month, I've had one from Indonesia and one from Brunea - both ordered 4 knives. I told them that I accept Amex money orders in U.S. $$ - no anwer from either

Well, it smelled so bad that it would have taken an idiot to bite. It is so obvious that if my experience is normal for those of others it requires great stupidity to fall for it. Don't you think - I mean from reading that thing?? I provide this because I have been told of it by a couple others here in recent past. When I received it today I thought it good to show it as a real example of what one might expect to see.

And, here's another one I just received a couple minutes ago. This guy seems more experienced at his scam. He gives a link to a PayPal warning. They must really like cue sticks and knives over there.

Anyway, do you have a big market there that justifies taking any risk with this scum?
 
I had one guy of many order over 5,000.00 worth of knives
from Indonesia
I just kept asking for new card numbers and reporting them
the guy would give me 2 at a time :(

Man, these guys ARE dumb... Can't they see after the first, second time nobody will bite anymore?
Or do they seriously think westerners are SO stupid?:rolleyes:
 
I had a couple of tries like that a few months ago. I'm glad I don't ship anything until I have "cash in hand".;)
