Got my first Grimsmo Norseman this week right here on Bladeforums.com. Love it! Took it apart today (Saturday) for a cleaning and promptly lost a bearing. Despite Grimsmo being closed on the weekends, they were very responsive and are sending me out a replacement at no apparent cost to me! Can't say enough good about that!

On an unrelated note, who has recommendations for a good knife disassembly tray with raised edges and little hardware compartments to hopefully avoid such needs in the future?

Glad to hear you got some great customer service. You might want to post in the Feedback forum too.

My mat is similar to the one Nick Shabazz has in his knife maintenance video. I got the idea from him IIRC. The beauty of this mat is that is has some magnetic holders to help keep screws and stuff from rolling around. I'd highly suggest getting a mat with some magnetic holders.

Google "gun maintenance mats" or "silicone soldering mats".

A McDonalds type food tray would work. You can also disassemble with your hands and the knife in large clear baggy.

Buy a fixed blade 😂. That’s my preference, but I agree with the above, just use a towel.

I use a mat for taking apart guns.
The one Nick Shabazz uses looks very close to mine.
The work mat has square areas for screws. They work great.
