Congrats to Mike, Tony and Reese. Just a great article that sure hit home on Tony's and Reese's work.

Well done Mike! Great research behind an excellent read.

I guess I need to put this #1 4-line in my pocket and start using it!

Congrats to all on many levels of jobs well done!!!

Thank you, Gus and Elliott. Kerry did a great job with the photos and there are a couple by Coop as well. I really learned a lot and I enjoyed talking to Tony for the story.

Well, a hearty congratulations to all the folks involved. I'll look forward to seeing that.

Mike, You have been Blessed. You didn't try to "shake down" those guys for some good press did you?
Greg

Congrats to all on this.I can't wait to get a copy,a very personal addition to my knives.Way to go Mike!

Haven't seen the article in question, but Knife World is my new favorite go to knife magazine. Was at the bookstore Friday night, checking out Blade, Tactical Knives and Knives Illustrated. I much prefer the "folksy" ;) feel of Knife World.

I agree Vince. This is a great issue to put up in a special place for a lot of reasons. All to do with this article. Mike really captured things well with his words.

I also got much from Tony's quotes. Especially the one about not curing cancer.

Kerry took over 400 photos for the story, so I also learned a lot about how knives are made by just looking at those photos. I'm sure Tony was glad when the picture taking was over with, although I heard he was a model model. :D

It was fun and I hope people enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

Don Hanson has been sharing some of his older Knife World magazines with me lately. I have really enjoyed them, and finally got on-line and subscribed to it. I got my first issue Friday and was very excited to see the article about Tony on the front page. Wonderful job of writing, Mike. Enjoyed all the photos, too. Tony has a great story to tell and is a textbook on traditional folder history.

I just got the issue in the mail. Wow! Our own Little Mikey Robuck was on the front page. As I was reading it I was thinking, "Hey, I know this guy." I chicken eyed and coon fingered the whole article and it is Pulitzer Prize material if I ever saw it.
Seriously, great work Mike. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rob,

I feel both humbled and a bit dirty by your post. Thanks. I'm off to take a shower now to get your virtual coon fingerprints off of me.

Looking forward to getting my copy someday. Maybe it's in the ole mailbox at home. Anywho, good goin Mike!:cool:

It's a cold day in hell when you see a knife magazine over here, although in fairness it's likely as much that there isn't the same size of knife-literate market here as the 'ban all pointy things' reaction. :(
And I'd really like to see this article.
But!!! :D As we're over there next month, will it still be on sale early to mid Dec, and is it in regular news agents, or will I have to hunt it down?

Mike,

I just changed jobs/seats at work, so the Pony Express was slow in delivering my KnifeWorld. Got to work today, and Finally got it. What a Great article on Tony! Thanks much!!! Very well written. Now...If only I had more Bose Beauties in My pockets! :D

Great photos by Kerry also.

Kent

Thanks, Kent. It was a Hampton/Robuck production all of the way. The shop photos really add to the story, not to mention all of the great knife shots.

Mike, before reading your excellent article, I knew of Tony Bose the craftsman, "The Legend". Now I feel I know Tony Bose the Man, and for that I thank you.
