...and not ONE comment, reaction,...?

Come on guys, which one do you prefer?

JD

There's no way to "prefer". Those are all great looking knives. Five of those views were mine, and it just depressed me each time... :)

Amazing talent, and Don is one of the great gentlemen of this business as well. His site should be required reading for any would be knifemaker, and fun reading for anyone else.

Thanks for displaying the pix.

Ok, I'll bite. I like the middle one best, because I'm a bowie kind of guy. Gorgeous knife and I love that blade shape.

Or is it the bowie or the tanto....jeezaree....why's a guy gotta make a decision....

Oh, the hell with it:D I'll just sell the first born, the house and the wife and take 'em all....:)

Joss,
Are responses from Hossom, Simonich and Mayo, one after the other, gratifying enough? Even some of us lesser mortals wait with great anticipation for anything new or available from Don Fogg and appreciate the art that goes into them.
All three knives are gorgeous, but that tanto blade looks amazing, although it's hard to see the activity on the steel from a small photo. And I'm partial to his daggers, especially one he made not long ago with a dual hamon that is probably the archetype for my idea of what such a dagger should look like. I wonder how long it took for them to be snapped up?

Hi,
Would someone please tell me how he put the basket weave on the edge of the guard on the Viking??? I assume it is file work. How does one start this so that I can practice for maybe 15 years and maybe come close???
Thanks for showing the finest assemblage of knives since the NC Guild show....Ken

Well, adoring most anything Japanese, I of course love the tanto. But I say that more for the blade. The blade alone would get my number one rating. Pound for pound though, I like the dagger the best.

I think most of us are waiting to win a multi-million dollar lottery in order to afford any one piece. The description of "Exceptional" to describe the pieces is, imo, an understatement. Very, very nice.

Closing Bids:

Kemal Viking $3,050

Kemal Falcon $2,500

Kelso-Mills Tanto $3,400

Did you get what you wanted?

Hmm.... Those were not mine, nor anyone's I know. I was just spreading the word. The prices seem low...

Ok. Now, I understand. Sorry about that.
Anyway, the Viking was very attractive. The tooling on the handle was incredible. Plus, good photography always helps.:D
