Excited to get Punched

So, I was wandering around the GEC web page and noticed the Production Schedule had been updated... which is always dangerous to my wallet.

The #15s have been all the rage lately and I was kind of burned out on them. The #83s hadn't really peaked my interest.
However, I really like the #77s and was looking forward to the new Yankee Jacks / Barlows.

Good enough...

Now, imagine my glee when I noted that, not only does a member here have a SFO run of spear blade Washington Jacks in the pipe, but a run of #77 Harness Jacks, as well.

Anyone else excited for a run of Harness Knives on the #77 frame?
I can hardly wait to get 'punched'. :D

I really like the size of the 77, just about right. Personally I think the awl is more valuable to me then the caplifter addition on the 15.

I didn't realize that this had already been commented on in the Traditional Barlow Thread.
I guess I was over excited a the prospect of a 77 HJ.

Anyone know what kind of punch it will have? I wonder if Charlie has a sketch or mockup to share!

My favorite is the fluted punch on the 85 HJ, really hoping this one is similar!

No worries, mate-- the #77 Harness Jack isn't a barlow (and discussion of the Harness Jack and Spear-main #77 Jack does not belong in that barlow thread). :)

I for one, am excited about this run of WJs and HJs!
But then, I would be!!:D

All of my SFOs turn my crank!! Will people like them? Will I like them??
It's never final until they start rolling out of the factory.

I do think you will like this one Mr. Bitters!

I reserved a cocobolo Washington jack.
Everything else Charlie makes turns out to be great so I don't expect this one to be any different.

Cocobolo and smooth autumn bone HJ for me! Maybe more, but I'm waiting for some more details about the build.

I REALLY hope they have the fluted punch like the #85 HJ had!

Possibly a dumb question: I've always wondered what the difference is between a Yankee Jack and a standard Jack Knife...

GEC made up the name "Yankee Jack". It's not a standard pattern name. Prior to October 2014, it didn't exist.

The difference is like comparing the words "Silverado" and "truck". Chevy calls their truck a "Silverado".

Thanks for the effort you have gone to again, Charlie.
I would like to get them all; however, 2015 has been a bumper year for traditional knives. I'm going to need to show some restraint this time around.
I'm only getting two, a matched Washington and HJ in cocobolo. The wood handled knives have been looking top notch lately.

I'm excited about these harness jacks! I also have exhausted the budget lately, but signed up for an Ebony HJ. I love old classic jack patterns in ebony!

Hopefully it will look a lot like my old boker.... (hint hint!)

Between TCs and the HJ/WJ runs Charlie is killing my budget! Oh well, the kids can get new shoes next year...

The last Washington Jack was (in my opinion) one of the greatest knives GEC has ever created.

I'm hoping to put my name on a spear version in the blood red bone.
