Wow, Kelly!!!
Congrats on two gorgeous knives.
What are your early impressions upon fondling??
I have been enamored with many differant flavours of BUSSE knives. I have changed my tune several times when it comes to what is my favorite.
The BAIII is a very nice size, it fits my hand very well and I can move the knife around and position it with confidence. I don't have to hold it in only one postion to be comfortable. If I want to choke up on it for detail work I can or I can hold it further back for more power in slicing or light chopping.(Obviously this is not a chopping knife.) It is most definately one of my favorites now.
The Mean street is a tough little package. You could use it as a bird and trout knife or carry it hidden in the city for your everyday tasks. The coolness factor for me really has to do with the fact that I have a little piece of Busse history in my collection and thats really why I wanted it and it is mainly why I want to aquire a SHBA and a BBSHSH. Once I can get Dave and Tim to share the love I will have my little cornerstone of Busse.
I am really happy to have picked these up. For me a big part of my enjoyment comes from evaluating the many designs that the knife maker dreamed up. Some we love others, not so much. So far there has not been a perfect Busse for me. I like differant things about differant knives.
I grew up hunting and fishing. When we chopped wood we used an Axe and a Maul. I still chop some wood and I still use an Axe. When I use a Busse to chop, its for fun.

When I use a Busse for cleaning a fish or skinning an animal its because it an awesome knife for anyjob. I could use the BAIII anywhere from skinning to cleaning to campknife and meal prep.
It must be getting late ,I'm starting to ramble...................
