Its black TiCN finish hollow-ground blade is precision machined from CPM-CruWear, a Trademark Round Hole and an elegantly understated flipper opener. The flipper action is supported by a pair of special ball-bearing pivot washers and a dedicated secondary detent mechanism separate from the knife's lock. It is paired with a skeletonized handle featuring full stainless steel liners, black hard anodized handle, open-backed construction, and a reversible, tip-up pocket clip for ambidextrous carry.

This is one I need to get. Don't have a cruwear Spyderco yet. I just wonder if the TiCN coating process will adversely effect the hardness of the blade. And if so, did they allow for that in the heat treatment process? Inquiring minds need to know.

I’m pretty confident there’s no significant change in the hardness of the blade after the coating is applied, But I’ve got no experience or data to confirm that. In my opinion the Taichung TiCN coatings are the nicest (in terms of appearance) of any Spyderco offerings. Maybe Shawn DeadboxHero DeadboxHero can comment on your question.
