would someone explain what a slipjoint knife is?I thought I had heard of everything,and I hope I aint settin myself up for ask a stupid question and get a stupid answer.thanks.
 
It's simply a knife that has no locking mechnisim(sp), old pocketknives like shrade, cammilus, case, etc are slipjoints.

Well, friction folders have no locking mechanism either... the slipjoint at least has a backspring providing some tension...
