Hello everyone!

Please excuse my lack of knowledge with respect to hawks and such. Here's my question.

Is the Vietnam Tac (the one woth acetal handle) a good field tool? There are 2 things that make me go hmm. The forst is the lack fo a cirving edge on the fron, and the second is the handle/heat joint. With respect to the second, th ejoint is said to be very strong, yet doesn't compare to the strength of the Next Gen Ranger hawk. Is the Next Gen Vietnam hawk strong enough for camp like chores? IS the shape of the hawk good for champ chores too?

THANKS!

I would say you have enough strength and head weight to do several camp chores. I wouldn't be afraid to use mine to chop some campfire wood and other items. Then you can have a blast target throwing it.

You have asked a question that many people ask about the difference between the two hawks. The VT Tactical is an excellent field tool. You can chop with it, throw it, dig with it and just about any thing else as well. You can do the same for the NG. The cutting edge of the NG is a little more effective for chopping than that of the VT Tactical. That being said the next big thing is the attachment. The handle head junction is very strong in both hawks but there again the NG has the advantage. I can assure you wich ever hawk you end up with you will not be disapointed.

The big factor in favour of the VT Tac is that is costs way less than the Next Gen Ranger... then again, if money is no object...
