Hello all,

I was wondering what the average wait time is on a order made with Himalayan-imports? since they are in Nepal, I would assume several weeks at a minimum?
i live on east coast of USA, if that helps. looking to order a sirupati for xmas/bday for someone. they were born on xmas day, lol.

They ship out of Nevada, if you order something that's in stock and not a custom order it usually takes only a few days.

I would say 4-5 days tops. I'm a few states west of you and it's usually 3-4 at most.

I'd say the odds of Auntie having a Sirupati on hand are pretty high also. I got nothing solid to back that up but I suspect she does.

I concur with my pals above 4 to 5 days would be record slow. Auntie is magically fast when it comes to shipping stuff. I don't know how she does it to be honest.

Keep your options open, if she doesn't have a Siru she might have something else really nice that would work nicely for ya.

2 days from Nevada to California. Still keep checking after one day already. You never know with aunty Yangdu's shipping magic.
Actually not believing in magic.
I think her triangular kukri boxes are just more aerodynamic than normal packages.
:)

Like others have stated, if Auntie has what you would like "in stock", no more than 4-5 days at the most from shipping to receipt.

Kamar Kobra might be an option if you cant get a siru from stock. My 25" Siru works nicely for cutting springy new growth vines and bush but I bet a lighter faster Kobra may even be better.
I have at least a dozen blades from HI and so far nothing has taken more than two days to get here. Ive had Friday orders arrive on Monday!

Priority mail takes about two to three working days

I ordered the Gorkha Hat Knife Thursday, late morning. Received it today, Saturday, late morning: 48 hours from the time I sent my email to Yangdu. That's from Nevada to California, and it includes the time it took Yangdu to address the package and get it to the Post Office, assuming that she already had it boxed up.

Most HI sales are from Yangdu's inventory in Reno, Nevada. I don't believe she posts knives here unless she already has them in hand, so unless you do a special order you are not waiting on a shipment from Nepal. If you order from the HI web site you can't be sure the knife is in stock. Best thing is to send Yangdu an email with your request. She does everything (except make the knives) herself. It's not like dealing with a giant corporation.

The closer you get to Christmas the slower the mails get because of the huge volume of packages (purchases and gifts), so if it's for a Christmas gift I wouldn't delay.

Old thread, I know, but I have a relevant question: I ordered using their website, and I received no receipt or any other evidence that the order went through. Is this normal? I did order it super early on Sunday (today). And is the shipping charge included in the listed price? I didn't see any indication of an additional charge for shipping. So I don't know what's going on.

yep, as others have stated this is a one woman show-- she must handle everything personally with a bit of help from karda and a few others; shipping is generally not included, you just made the order though so do not worry, I am relatively certain it will be processed on monday, and shipping is a good 15 dollars for priority mail -- and for the quality of the product I like to bump another 10 dollars in on the shipping to help out.

either way I am sure you will be satisfied when you get your blade!

Thanks Gehazi. I didn't add any additional money because I didn't know I would have to... I assumed the next step would at least mention s&h, but nothing. All I know is I followed the steps until there were no more steps. I tried to do everything correctly.

yeah , just remember that HI appreciates your business, but also give them the time required of a small operation which is constantly flooded by orders for this fair trade product. and if you are here on the forums you may as well louse around like the rest of us and wait for deals of the day, which is where auntie sells a few flawed or interesting products from the main stock to us here , and all you have to do to get one is send her an email when you see it available. Do not worry, she will get to you but it may take a little time.--

things are busy and they are having power troubles in nepal, so be patient, but I can tell you for sure you will not be disappointed in whatever you pick up .

For items ordered thru the website CONUS shipping is included in the listed price. International orders are not and must be purchased separately. Items sold here on the forum during a DOTD are not shipping included.

Your order will likely be processed tomorrow and will likely be shipped by the end of the business day, if your item is currently available. Some items are very popular and can sometimes be out of stock and waiting for the next shipment to arrive from Nepal.

If you don't hear either way by tomorrow evening. A polite inquiry to Auntie Yangdu at himimp@aol.com should get an answer.
