Expedient bow drill divot

Well, sort of. Discovered yesterday that removing one of the sets of screws, ideally the middle one, creates a pretty decent divot for a bow drill, seeing as that seems to be the hardest part to find, at least for me.
 
The problem with that is you need some way to remove the screw in the wilds.
 
Is it possible to use something like a countersink bit in the micarta or will it cause it to fray?

I don't know much about the material - this will allow someone to make their own bearing divot in their slab.
 
1/2" brad point drill bit - make it shallow so you don't bottom out into the liner.

Yeah, neither do I.The only reason I found this out is cause one of my screws is missing. Missing meaning thrown away because I did a professional job of stripping it.:grumpy:
