in my house by my wife!!! ;) Too much bitchin' and moanin' and naggin' by the three main characters. Oh well, I suppose it could have had potential.

one's right ,one's wrong ,one's over-reacting and no one listens to the journalist (straight out of Afghanistan BTW) nice kukari though

They picked the wrong characters. Well, perhaps they'll do better with Expedition Asia, surely coming to a TV set near you ... eventually.

I like the kids show better "Survive This". For being a bunch of kids, they're doing better than the "experts" on Africa. I stopped watching Expedition Africa after the second episode. It was frustrating to watch the experts not able to get simple things done. I know they're perfectly capable but they make it seem hard for the sake of adding drama to the show. Just my opinion..

I want to throw P-ass-quacky into a prison rape scene. That guy is the first to have a serious and unfortunate accident on my expedition.

I like both shows but the " Survive this " is a better show :D

It's a Mark Burnett production, so it's guaranteed to have drama for the ratings :barf:

I haven't watched this show that much, but from what I have, I would also say that I like survive this a bit more.

I think I missed a couple of episodes of survive this but I caught the one where they were building shelters so now it's being recorded. I'm not sure about the judging of the contests...the girls shelter had holes in it but they still won the contest. I did like that the prize was edible greens and not a tv dinner.

I have to agree with Mr. Laconico, drama added for the sake of drama and survive this is a better show. BTW: I only made about halfway through the second episode of E.A.

The Expedition Africa is unwatchable IMO. The guy can't have led many expeditions, he just takes off and lets the rest of his people miles behind him. What the heck is that?

There could have been plenty of drama in the show just based on what they were attempting, without contriving all of the personality conflicts.

It's basically As The World Turns in the bush, not really interesting.

It's like Orange County Choppers, without motorcyles and in the middle of Africa. Too much drama. I think much of it is contrived.

I was noticing while watching it last week that their number of porters seems to have really diminished.

I thought after watching the first episode when they kept getting lost in the swamp that the porters would say screw this and go home.

Pasquale seems to keep talking about how many expeditions he's led like he has an inferiority complex. According to the biography on the History Channel page, Benedict has done lots of amazing stuff but he doesn't talk about that.

pasquale also never wears his hipbelt on his huge pack...anyone else find this strange??? either he is like made of steel or he just has a porter carry it most of the time...also the girls back is never even close to full and the british guy cant get his osprey pack adjusted right always wearing it sideways or something.

I noticed the packs right away. I was confused. These guys are supposed to be very experienced and they can't even carry their packs right. There could have been at least one person in the crew who could have told them. Anyone with even a little experience knows better than that. :thumbdn:

i think its probably got to do with the fact that they only "carry" the packs during shots...pasquales bio puts him climbing everest a number of times... i dont think that would be possible with all the weight on his shoulders the entire time...well possible yes comfortable no

This is exactly right. IF Burnett is in charge, drama is his formula for success. Its a shame, as the show really could have showed some history and some wonderful photography.

Still, I watch it. I actually like the Survival guy and the journalist. The "leader"... well, I wouldn't do to well with him. Him crying about losing team members ticked me off. Not the emotion, but his notion that somehow that made him better than everyone else.

LOL or probably the journalist LOL.

Yeah, the survival guys pack ticks me off everytime I see it. LOL.
