ok so i dont have any customs or any really high queality knives like sebbies/striders/wh/hinderer...etc. but i gotta say. i am so happy i have my griptilian, delica, alias, farmer, 110. not to say the aforementioned knives arent nice, but i am content without them. its not all about the knife. its about who is using the knife. man...i love knives:D

There are some higher priced knives I would like to eventually get but I agree with you. My Mini-Griptilian tanto just came today and I just love the look, weight, and smooth opening of it :D.

Didn't Sheryl Crow sing something along the lines, "it's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got" ?
You're ahead of the game if you've figured that a higher price tag doesn't have to equal more enjoyment.

I've been carrying a MicroTec UT6 born 09/2001 as an EDC for a while. Definitely not cheap but it has no thrill in a glass case. I'll probably use 90% of my knives before it's over. That doesn't include the doubles in the big safe unless maybe I lose one. $50-$500 knives can't really give me a buzz until I'm cutting something with them.

Thats why I bought used when I got my Strider GB. I figured I was gonna use the heck out of it anyway. I found a great deal on a contoured black GB in 95%+, got it for $250.

I'm the same way:D

Knives do very little for me when they are just sitting in a safe. I had no problem pulling my MINT $775 DDR Gunhammer through the cardboard box the new rocking chair was in, just hours after getting it.

To get on topic, I like Spydercos a LOT! So if I could not have my customs, I could and would be happy. Like I said, I like using them, and my Krein'ed ZDP Caly is a beast of a cutter......

*off to switch the small Krein'ed Sebbie, for that Caly3 :D*

Buy what you like and buy the very best that you can afford. This applies to more than knives. I would rather have one great knife than a dozen good knives. But that is just me. YMMV.

I am all about quality, and not quantity. I love my customs. There is nothing like a knife that is made for you. And there is nothing like the amazing quality of a custom knife. Or having a one of knife.

Basically, the idea is buy what you can afford/max out you budget to and enjoy. Don't buy expensive just because it is (that's how luxury brands get ya)

This is true, but there are plenty of quality knives out there that don't carry hefty price tags. Granted, they aren't exclusive, but they're not out of the reach of the average buyer, either.

Sheryl Crow also wants to limit your toilet paper and advocates blowing your nose into your sleeve to save the environment

I simply used the lyrics to show that always wanting more doesn't equal more happiness. I could give a rat's ass on her stance on social issues, but yep, I'd use my shirt as a snot rag to get a shot at her...lol.

im happy with my 710. Looks nice and cuts just as good as most knives. Feels nice in the hand and damn does it cut fruit nicely! I dont find expensive knives worth it but I rather buy camera lens' heheh

But, I've expensive knives and they are fine. Every once in a while, I do wonder why since the 'cheaper' knives are just as good for my EDC.

must be the 'knife knut' in me

I have never found that price alone gets you quality. Some of the best knives I have ever used hard were pretty cheap price wise but damn good where and when it counted most.

Not a thing wrong with those knives, bro. I have expensive ones and cheap ones. Some of the cheaper ones are my favorites.
