Experience or Opinion on Bastinelli Knives?

No, I don't. However, it is of Italian manufacture, by the top-rated Lion Steel; thus, the model BBR2 should be an excellent product. A nice length of D2 steel (0.130"); a proper-length and design of ergonomic hand-grip, Frame-lock, tip-up, decent belly and thumb jimping. Nice pocket-clip; double-studded blade? What's NOT to like? Perhaps the blade-steel could stand an upgrade, but D2 has served well in the past. I have read one good review in the past...that seemed to really enjoy this knife, reco'd it highly for LEO and Emergency Defense workers.
It seems to have been designed primarily for tactical use...even has a nice blood groove and a long thin blade design. All the nicer to take on the regional dinosaur, albeit with a 3 1/8" blade that seems a bit short for opponents with big teeth or longer blades. Handle thickness at 0.480" is right in my favored range for grip, comfort and control.
I suspect it could be a nice EDC and comfortable in my hand, as the dimensions are just about where I want them. I believe that I could cut my OutBack steak without upsetting the patrons.
I do NOT own one at this point, but it has taken a place in my "favorites" listing.
I think it might even appear to be a "fun" knife, and the price seems appropriate.
I like it.

They are excellent. I have 2 BBR2's and am selling one of them if you are interested. It is BNIB. I am a huge Lionsteel fan and these are perfect examples of their craftmanship.

I have the compact Dragotac manufatured by Lionsteel (designed by Bastinelli) and it's great in a lot of ways; the blade to handle ratio is insanely good, the ergos are phenomenal, and the blade geometry is excellent for slicing. Lockup and smoothness are very impressive, but it's very off center. Out of the 3 Lionsteel knives I've owned, once you loosen the pivot (they come pretty cranked down from the factory), the blades go off center.

I am interested in getting one small enough for EDC.
I have the Bastinelli RED folder and it has a 3.5in D2 steel blade, a titanium framelock, and has a thumbstud opener. The folder is perfectly centered, smooth opening, and absolutely no blade play.

The ergos of the BAS01 are just amazing. I have large hands that feel comfortable on a Super Commander and when I unboxed the RED folder, I took one look and thought I'd have to send it back because the handle 'appears' to be small. But once I put the handle in my hand, it fit just right.

Interestingly, the deep-carry pocket clip has a small carbide glass breaker on the very end ... just in case.

I have a BBR2 folder (Bohler K110 tool steel - high chromium D2) made by LionSteel of Italy and a BB Drago Claw fixed (N690 stainless steel) made by Fox of Italy.

Quality knives focused more on self defense.
