Experience with Infidel War Belt or similar belts?

I've wanted to put together a a light, low pro gear carrying system for hunting and situations where I don't want to lug a bag around and/or want more accessibility to my gear. These bigger MOLLE belts seem to be a good option. I currently keep my survival and first aid kits in 5.11 MOLLE pouches that I think would fit pretty well on one of those belts, and I could attach a bladder carrier to a the strap harnesses that you can attach to the belts.

The infidel war belt by US Grunt Gear seems to be one of the best big MOLLE belts out there. Anyone have any experience with it or any of the similar belts?

I've had an ATS Battle Belt and an ICE one. The ATS belt came to me in 3 days, with an HSGI Silverthorne with it. It took the ICE belt 2 months from order to getting it. I didn't really like the ICE belt, not to mention waiting 2 months is a little goofy, if you don't have the manpower to make the belt don't advertise them on major gear sites. The ATS belt worked well while I used it, I had just had surgery on both my back and chest so a backpack was not happening (still isnt actually) and the ATS fit well, was snug, held the 20 lbs of junk I put in in including a Nikon D70 and accesories, had to balance it out with a 1911 on the other side but thats not an issue around here.

Without rambling, If you can afford it, get the ATS belt and Infidel belt, the ATS belt when I got it brand new first batch was like 60 bucks. So it's not the 200 of the ICE and SOE's of the world. Nothing wrong with either of those companies gear, just the time frame.

And you know, maybe look into a chestrig, Bushy has one, I use a full on silverthorne which can carry 100+ lbs of junk if needed. The great thing about the internet and this century in general is the just huge amount of gear we can buy now. You also mentioned carrying a bladder/camelback, it's very easy to mod most vest/chestrigs to take camelbacks, alot even had built in clips for them.

After looking at the pics of the infidel, it looks and seems to be of similar if not 90% the same design as the ATS belt. 3 Rows of pals though on the ATS, atleast mine.

Hope this helps and just doesn't confuse you more lol

I've seen the ATS ... does it have the velcro inner belt? That part looks like a very useful feature to keep it in place. Also, I like the larger loops under the PALS sleeves of the Infidel. I haven't seen that the ATS has that. Maybe I just missed it.

I've thought about a chest rig. Still thinking about it I guess. I guess I see it as sort of an inbetween of a belt and a pack.

Didn't think about being able to hook a camera onto the belt as well, but that would definitely be nice as I am usually lugging a nikon with me.

+1 for the ATS belt. It dose have Velcro inside to hold the belt in place. I use one for shooting, I like that it is a sleeve and you can put a duty belt through it or a riggers belt. I like the riggers belt because you can rappel if you need to. I have rappelled with one no problem and would trust it.

About the velcro, I should have been clearer. If you watch the video on the Infidel belt, you see that it has an inner belt that attaches to the inside of the MOLLE cover. It is that inner belt that tightens around your waist or, for a more secure fit, you can run the velcro belt through your belt loops and then fit the belt cover around the velcro so that your belt loops are holding the war belt in place. This inner velcro belt is not the same layer that runs through the MOLLE cover and buckles in front.

Here is the video on the infidel belt that shows this set up:

If I watch the ATS belt vid, I don't see that feature. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trcxg7gM3nU

I think that feature really appeals to me, having used the old web belt rigs and having a lot of problems with them sliding around and creeping up and down.

I got ya. The ATS belt is sandwiched between the belt you put in it. You then adjust the riggers or duty to fit you. The ATS belt just turns a normal belt into a more comfortable, MOLLE compatible belt, if that make sense. I do like the Grunt Gear belt. let me know if you have anymore questions.

Reminds me of the understated utility of the old military H-web gear then the Y-web gear. You could hang a crap load of stuff off your body without having that big lump we call hunting packs pulling on our shoulders and shifting around while we navigate unsure footing.

There's always the HSGI harness and Tru-Grip belt.
