I am going to be etching and stripping a NMFBM with the old school Busse logo. (Knife with Dog Tags logo.) I have etched the standard "BUSSE" logo with PCB etchant and the results were fantastic.

I noticed that the older logo has finer details in it. If I pool PCB etchant over the logo will it erode the details in the logo more so than an electro etch would? I am curious to hear some feedback about your experiences etching that specific logo. Any tips, tricks, suggestions, etc. would be much appreciated.

Please post any pics of you results etching that specific logo. Thanks!

PCB etchant works fine on both versions of that logo, just give it time and don't smudge it. ;)

How do you not smudge it? The last one I did I put the PCB over the whole logo. Let it sit for an hour. Cleaned it off and repeete.

If you could provide any tips on how to prevent smudging it would be appreciated.

In my experience the electo-etch is sharper, but the chemical has it's merits too. Both good.
I didn't do the first one, the second one I done myself.
My favorite etch <with 9V + salt solution>

I'e only etched that logo once and I don't have a pic if it. It came our good with the Radio Shack pcb etchant. Just looking over a few of my blades it seems as though the etched have gottensharper looking as my etchant has gotten older. The first one is my TGLB that I stripped three or four years ago. I etched it for about two hours. The second is my ASH2 that I did about a year and a half ago. Same two hour etch but the fine lines stayed much thinner. Third is my Ratweiler that I did a couple months ago. That was about a ten hour etching process. It went really deep and still kept nice sharp edges.
