Made this today while playin' in the basement waiting for the Superbowl to start. Made from a farriers rasp(the Farrier is the guy who shoes horses), Kewl pattern huh? 4 1/4" long, 3/16" thick, 1 1/2" edge... the hole in the handle you see is where it snaps into the divot in the sheath like my 'Snapless Torpedo'... made to lay as flat in the pocket as possible. It would probably be quite useful as a box opener, and one Helluva conversation piece around work. The BF member who gave me this idea wanted one similar w/ white micarta scales... I'll try to do that but this was just the learning piece, I'm hoping the one w/ micarta scales won't fit to thick in a pocket. All comments wanted , good and bad... Thanks!
-Michael

I like it but one thing I would suggest is to reverse the angle at the butt of the knife. Make the top of the butt extend further than the bottom and/or make it a bit rounder like butter bean shaped. It'd be a little more in the hand and help control the blade more. Just my 2 cents. It's great like it is, I'm just looking at it like I look at knives.

I like that a lot Michael, especially the sheath concept. Put me on the list for one of those!

A couple variations... These are 5" long, 1/8" thick(3/8" at the handle) I'll try these w/ Black micarta next, and also Olive Green and Burgundy(same sheath system)... Whaddya think???

All of these look great! I especially like the top pattern of the 5" variation. The micarta scales look sharp. Can't wait to see the other colors.

Have you considered doing one of these with a sheepsfoot shaped blade? I think in a little pocket cutter the flat cutting edge would come in handy. The do look great however and the concept is very solid.

Check the "Fixed Blades For Sale" area... I put some new ones on.

And THANKS everyone for your input!!!

I don't usually care for knives without scales, but yours is an exception and looks very desirable as a minimal, flat knife. The ones with scales look great too.

The ground file look is quite beautiful. Does it make the knife heavy?

I guess my predjudice about knives is that I like the spine to be curved up or down, but not straight.

This looks to be a winning design. I would expect you could sell a lot of them.
