This is my third hidden tang and my first contoured handle and guard. The handle is OD green G10, and the guard and spacer is blued mild steel. The face of the guard is hammer textured. The Blade is 9" long and has a nice active hamon and the OAL is 14.5". The hamon on the backside of the blade is a bit sporadic, but I think it looks pretty cool anyway. I don't do a lot of hidden tangs, because of the amount of time it takes to do one properly without a mill. Hopefully that will be remedied soon!
Anyway let me know what you guys think, all opinions welcome!!

Looks very fit for function and ergonomically correct.
From an aesthetic perspective, I perfer a ricasso to be as wide as the handle.

Very nice knife

I agree with Kevin on the Ricasso

Your handle while good IMHO would benefit by a bit larger (flared) in the butt (pommel)

But for your 3 rd attempt awesome :)

More specifically, I would narrow the handle to match the ricasso. With that said, nice work. i am just the opposite. I just did my first three full tang stock removal knives after 7 1/2 years on and off of doing hidden tang forged blades.;)

I agree with Joe and Kevin, but other than that one little quibble I like it a heck of a lot.

Same as my lil' friends above concerninf the handle / ricasso.
But honestly, the knife already looks awesome as it is, esp the blade and the hamon.

;)

Very nice. I agree with Joe and Kevin. That knife would be near perfect to me with longer quillions on the guard. But in all still an very nice knife.

Thanks very much for the comments guys!
I will be working on proportions and ratios as I do more knives like this.
I appreciate the feedback.

Have to agree with all thats been said here. Still a great looking blade, and for # 3 bravo.
Cheers Keith

I'm really digging this, great work. The subdued colors rock. This thing looks ready for serious work.

Personally, I like the ricasso A LOT. From a user standpoint, they're often too big and snag all the time. This one is the perfect size, and the edges look well blended. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't want the knife looking like it has wings, either.

Thanks again, for the comments and critiques.
I just pulled the trigger on a mill, so I should be diving deeper into this style of knife a bit!

just a old grunts / comment / greath work for me a bet more guard saves fingers .if used in country .niceone

From the first look at the knife, the blade has an AWESOME look to it, but the overall look seemed to be out of balance.

Kevin put it concisely, in that the ricasso being the same width as the handle adds that balance.

Thanks for the critiques guys. I agree it is preferable to have the ricasso the same width as the spacer and handle.
