I have one, and a tougher knife you will never find. Mine is an older Effingham produced Becker but the specs are about the same. Will Fennel says they have improved the handle contour for more comfort, which is probably true. I had to wrap mine with tape for comfort. The blade is thick and it took serious work to get mine shaving sharp. The newer ones from Camillus are supposed to have a better grind and be sharper out of the box.
In my opinion this is a great search and rescue knife (which is what I used it for). It is too short to chop with (in my opinion) but it will do if properly sharpened. It was orginally advertised as capable of "field dressing a Buick" and it will. I haven't tried a Buick, but I can attest to a Cessna, and a Piper which were "partially disassembled" with it. When I bought it I carried it everywhere. It remains on call for SAR work, but I have other knives that now have taken its place on my "civilian" forays afield.
I've seen your posts at Plainsman's. Glad to see you here too.
