Hey folks,

I have a question for you. Take a look at this Small Sebenza in the picture below. It has the Regular scales and what looks like the Classic blade. Is this the case or does it look to you like the Blade has been swedged??? I am at a loss and would love to hear your opinion Thanks

It got Mayonized!

The blade on the small Sebenza doesn't look like it's been swedged because of all the swedged Sebenza's I've seen, the spine of the blade looks different towards the tip.

That's when you send your sebenza to Tom Mayo for his custom sharpen and handle treatment. He also somehow makes it waaaaayyyyy smoother opening and closing.

No, your sebenza does not have a swedge added to it. Below is a pic of a swedged Sebenza. The upper portion of the tip is ground to what appears to be a false edge that makes it swedged.

Thanks guys, Looks like I got a Sebbie with mixed and matched parts

Your small Sebs blade looks perfectly fine. My small Sebs blade looks exactly like yours. It is the correct blade for the knife you have.

I agree. I checked both of my regular small Sebbie's against the picture you posted. But if you still aren't comfortable with the knife just give it to me and I'll give it a good home. :D

When comparing this knife to that of pictures on CRK's site, it looks like the blade is off a Classic. But I am not sure, thats why I asked. Thanks

Who is this guy and do you have a link for him?

So, it looks like all is well with the Sebbie in our pass-around.

It seems very sweet but the Blade 2000/2001 Award sticker just seemed wrong on a 1999 knife.

If you compare a small classic, with a small regular, there is little difference in blade geometry. In the larges, it is more apparant. I know exactly what you are thinking. When I got my first Sebenza, small regular, I thought it somehow got a classic blade also. It didn't seem to have as much "belly" as in the photos. But now that I have a small classic to compare it to, you can tell a slight difference. On my larges, it's easy to tell.
Enjoy your knife, and start shopping for your next!!:D

Thanks Guys, I am glad to hear it! I was worried for a second, even called up CRK to find out of that was the case, if it would void the warrenty. Of course they said "No Problem" :)
