Guys, I have a good friend who was reactivated from the retired reserve (took early retirement in '80s), and is now in Iraq. They've been having to rescue some troops trapped in structures by explosions. He is looking for a titanium pry bar about 18" long.

Yes, he knows that steel is actually stronger, but soldiers carry a lot of gear. Even majors. He says they do have access to pry bars, but he wants something light enough to carry in his personal gear. Y'all know of any reasonably priced titanium bars this size?

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the response. The Halligans are too large, but the second one might be about what he's looking for. :)

I called about the Materials.com bar last week. The gent I spoke with said that he had no more in stock, and the last he had went for $175!

The Toolbarn isn't long enough for good leverage to pry open a building jammed shut by explosion.

I have one of these and they are pretty tough and versatile. Not as light as titanium , but not bad. Hope this helps. Thank your bud for his service and tell him to watchhis ass.
