Experts in Belt Grinder Design

I am an attorney who is representing a belt grinder manufacturer in a product liability case involving a hobbyist who was injured while using my client's machine to make a knife. Because the case is presently in litigation, I can't be too much more specific than that. What I am looking for is an expert witness - preferrably someone with a nice combination of expertise in both machine design and knife-making - who might be available to inspect the machine that my client manufactures and give me a candid opinion as to whether it is defectively designed or not. Any leads that anyone might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. (The case is pending in New England.) Thanks.

Oh man have YOU come to the right place. I'm not what you're looking for, but there's lots here. One thing, if you mentioned roughly where you are or where the design review needs to take place it might help...unless you've got plane tix and expenses.

There's gotta be a dozen or more "name recognition" knifemakers 'round here. Specify state and any of us can tell you who to look up.
