Found this in a late 1960's outdoor life. I'm betting 2000a.d. seemed a lot farther away then.... , Kinda makes ya feel old regardless of age...- Joel

well you also have to think, if some one is using the knife any material or workmanship defect should be found by 30 years after its bought and if not the person didnt use the at all of its no longer due to materials or workmanship

but yes that is rather amusing

I'm going to copy this thread to Bernard Levine's Knife Collecting & Identification.

If Gadabout said it is the "best darned knife", then that is ALL the info I need to know

In the Kabar ad, check out the picture of the pliers with the adjustable crescent wrench built into one of the handles. Pretty cool multi-tool for 1970.

Hey Gradall5200, I not only read that Norse King ad when it first came out, I bought one and still have it. It was a big disappointment and big education for me. I saw the way that the knife could be bent without breaking and thought that it would spring back to straight when released. Much to my chagrin my miracle knife was easier to bend than other knives and stayed bent until forced back to true. I took off the cap on the end and ground finger scallops into the handle.
