Explanation of the Joufuu Drama

This post is unfortunately about forum drama. On Monday May 23, 2016 I asked JouFuu to stop using my spider on his sheaths and clips. His exact words were: "Sue me - Lets get some lawyers involved about trademark likeness - spend your money waste your time." I wanted everyone to know that he is no longer authorized to use the likeness of my spider. Any further sheaths made with this image on it are made and sold without my permission.

This action was taken because of physical threats to an employee and also threats to my business. I felt I had to post this because of an underhanded PM campaign he is waging against Fiddleback Forge Inc. Fiddleback Forge will no longer be doing business with JouFuu sheaths, and will not be recommending them as a sheathmaker.

On Monday we will be re-opening the flea market thread. We love having y'all trade our knives there.

Sucks that this had to be the end result of the situation.

Really sorry to hear that.
 
Real shame things went down this way.

My hope would have been an agreement (licensed trademark or similar) that could have been reached, beneficial to both sides.

That said I certainly respect the desire to protect business interests and employees' livelihood by whatever means felt best for the situation.

If I was to post the set of text messages, you would realize that isn't possible.
 
Very sorry to hear about this situation and the outcome. I, like many, am a big fan of both products and have enjoyed watching both brands grow over the past few years.
 
Yup. I said it.

But you're the one causing the drama. This whole thing was behind the scenes and goes all the way back to December - when i left the forum and created my own. I have a problem with your General Manager and your failure to supervise him .. and take responsibility for his actions.

You're scared I'm going to dump my Fiddleback collection on the used market (that's his "threat" to his business) - your fears and you think you can stop me from selling them. You can't.

You can bad mouth me all you want, but you and Phillip will not own up to your mistakes - make a simple apology and stop the BS. You created the drama. If you want to air dirty laundry .. buddy, i can let it fly. Should i start with a call to your local LEOs? Should I tell everyone how much bad mouth them every time i see you?

Bud, I'm not scared of you selling your collection. Go for it. But I'm not letting you do it in my forum.
 
Yeah... You know, maybe it's just me, but I don't really care about anyone's dirty laundry or drama. I don't want to hear it. That isn't why this forum exists. It exists to sell and promote Fiddleback Forge knives. Maybe we can all get back that and shut the hell up about the rest?

I'm the center of attention? Dude .. take your meds (the legsl ones) and note who started this publicly? It would have solved itself on its own if yall shut your mouths.

You are definitely scared of anyone with a large collection of your knives selling out one day. < -- YOUR WORDS. Only thing you're accomplishing here is self destruction.

Take responsibility for your employee's actions, Apologize, and stop the BS. Too complicated?
