Exploring Kershaw knives

Hey Kershaw forum. I've owned a lot of knives over the years, but not many Kershaws. Just wondering if I'm missing anything. One thing that keeps me away is Kershaw tends to use lower grade steels and spring assists. Can anyone recommend a Kershaw (or any KAI) folding knife with the following criteria:

1. Mid to High end steel (comparable to S30V or better).
2. Non assisted. Full manual only.
3. No G10.
4. Under 5 oz. (Eliminates most ZTs)

Thanks!

Ti JYD? Not sure about the weight. The G10 JYD comes in at 5.2oz, but that also has steel liners. I'd figure the Ti framelock w/o liners would be lighter.

Or a CF Blur with torsion bar removed? Several have turned their Blurs into manuals and seem to like it a lot. I haven't tried this with any of mine.

Yeah, I know. That brings up another question. Why does Kershaw discontinue all their high quality knives (Volt, Speedform, Tilt, etc.)?

What do you mean discontinue? The knives you listed were all limited edition knives of just a few hundred pieces.

Let me rephrase that then. Why are all of Kershaw's higher end offerings only in limited runs?

Because they usually involve very labor intensive processes and exotic materials that are hard to obtain in large quantities.

Plus, the market for $300+ productions knives is relatively small.

I think KAI tries to estimate the market for the knife and design the production run around that. Problem with a lot of those knives listed is they came out a few years ago. and the market has been expanding rapidly ever since. I think if you looked at the number of pieces in their limited editions they are building a lot more of them now than they were. Weren't the Speedform and Volt only a couple hundred pieces and the Tilt was more like 1000 (500 SW and 500 DLC)?

205 DLC and 480 SW = 685

The S 110 V Shallot might qualify. I put Snap On Aluminum side plates on the non lock side to lighten them up.
