I commented on a knife fs and was contacted by a scammer through email, meaning my email is exposed. Can I please get some assistance on how to make it non-visible?

Do a search in the search window for Your email.

"Report" those posts with said email
The moderator will fix/erase them.

If your email was ever posted in a thread, you should consider it known, even if you have since removed it and can no longer see it referenced in a post. These scammers are pros. They are not making random attacks.

Also, The scammers are pros. They can search many places for emails, not just here.

Check to see if your email address has been outed by a breach on another site. This site checks your email against known data breaches and information made generally available. If the site shows results for your email address, then it's out there.

Have I Been Pwned allows you to search across multiple data breaches to see if your email address or phone number has been compromised.

We recommend transmitting all payment information by DM. Only the participants of a DM can see the contents of that DM.
If you insist on using email, then you should verify that the person emailing you actually is the seller.

Edited to add: Neither Sellers nor Staff have access to user member email addresses. If you receive an email and have not provided your email address to the person purporting to send it to you, it ain't them.

If you Google your username there are other sources off BF they can get it. Best to use a unique username for different sites and not tie them to other things.
