Exposed pivot pin replacement

Has anyone attempted to replace an exposed pivot pin with a threaded, adjustable pivot pin? I'm thinking in particular about Spydercos.
Thanks.

I have but on many models they have that style of pivot that has a flat spot on one side designed to keep it from spining which would allow the screw to loosen causing blade play. I know of no supplier that sells these. Spyderco could replace one possibly if its still made.

Otherwise you are probably looking at having to redrill the overscale holes, the liner holes, (if it has liners) and the pivot hole in the blade itself which would require a carbide drill in the correct size. Then of course lets not forget the new pivot barrel which in all liklihood would need resized to fit the knife in question so it may not just slap right in there. Sometimes the barrel and the screw that comes with it or screws if two sided, will need shortened down some to the correct length.

Thanks, STR. My Pacific Salt is a tad wobbly. But I wonder about this whenever I consider the pinned knives. It seems preferable to be able to adjust with a hex wrench, though, truthfully, the pinned blades seem to work pretty darn well for the most part. I remember seeing a post you wrote which suggested insering a razor blade between the scale and the tang before giving the pin a wallop to tighten–what is the purpose of the razor blade?
Anyway, drilling and cutting the screw wouldn't be too big a deal, but turning down the barrel sounds like a pain. I wish hardware for this sort of thing was commonly available!

Never give a pin a "whallop." Light, sort taps with a very small hammer are the way to tighten a pin.
