Can i sand down epoxy that is set but not filling cured ? Or is it best to wait?

Just want to flush the sides up but I can wait

If the epoxy isn't fully cured you'll just gum up the sandpaper. Let it cure until the epoxy makes sanding dust.

You can try cutting it off, if it's in a good spot for that
