Extended delay on Busse?

I'm pretty bummed... I ordered a TGLB on May 17th and it's now August and I've yet to get my shipping notification. I know on the website it says 4-10 weeks, but it's been 11 weeks counting this week, and I paid on July 15th. I really appreciate Lexi on the Busse Team helping me, but I really really really want my knife... I just didn't expect to wait till the end of the time frame and beyond. Has anyone else experience this extended delay? It's my first time ordering directly from Busse too...

Depends on the order, I have had one go 4months and some of the NMFSHs from last year were close on 6 months, if you have paid however it is VERY close !!

As a helpful hint - now would be a good time to put an order in for a sheath if you haven't done so. Hopefully it will arrive just as the knife does. If it is your first Busse you may not have appreciated the need for an after market sheath. Plenty of good Kydex benders on here and a few good leather guys too.

Yep! Took 12 weeks exactly for my TGLB that I got a couple of weeks ago. WELL worth it though so do not worry:D

I think the reason might be you ordered so close to blade show, so that could have something to do with the delay. I just got a custom Rodent 4 from swamp rat last week that i ordered in april. I blamed Blade show :)

The Busse wait has never been excessive in my opinion. One pre-order for a Benchmade I was involved in resulted in the knife being delivered 9 or 10 months after the actual due date. And I agree, ordering 2 weeks before Blade increased your wait time.

Have a cold beer and cruise the forums. In a week or two if you sill haven't heard anything give the shop a call. Worse thing that happens is you get to talk to one of the girls, and maybe even the janitor if you're lucky.

I'm ~38 days in. Hoping it comes in the next 38 else I'll have to update my shipping address! ;) Patiently waiting here. :)

Send me an e-mail so I can look your order up and find out exactly where your order is with production. My direct email is lexi@bussecombat.com.

You should have been in on the NMFSH wait.
.... it may have had a positive to it... my two were ready for shipment about two days after teh Ganza which you will recall took place just before Christmas... that was about $800 I was NOT counting on spending THAT week.... ;)

This is likely my last order for quite some time. Scrapyard site is down and the delays are becoming to long for a semi-production blade anyone could order. I hear the Swamp is taking weeks now. I really do not understand these business models. The procurement cycle is worse than the federal government's.

I ordered an AMS from the company store on 6/27 and had it in my hands on 7/30. I don't know if it's because less people have been ordering them or if they're easier to forge or something, but... Like Lexi said, if you're curious as to where your knife is, just ask 'em. I shot' em an email when I was waiting for mine because I was curious, and they were quite helpful. In fact, as luck would have it, it shipped out the same day they replied, so maybe you'll get lucky. ;)

I agreed with you. Maybe we're not the primary customer and the government's orders are the one that keep food on the table.

I hear you. On the NMFSH I waited almost exactly 6 months. Towards the end I was calling the shop every 2 weeks. It really does bother me that they tell you 4-8 weeks. They really should say later than sooner, but at some point. But it's a good blade. You should be happy.
