Howdy,
I'm trying to figure out who to send some custom work to, not yet familiar with who's who here. Now then, I was kindly referred to this place by some gentlemen in a different section; looking for some advice.

I have one of these (bottom of page)

http://casesales.com/knives/silverscript.htm
Item #5429
Silver Script CopperLock®
Wharncliff blade
4-1/4" closed, 3 ounces

and love the overall size, blade shape and lock mechanism, but would like to make it more useable, um, dare I say..."tactical"?...specifically for one-handed use. To that end, I'd like an ambidextrous thumb-stud installed in the blade and small cut-outs in the handle to accomodate them. Also, I'd like to have the handle material changed to plain G10 or micarta, (no script, chews my palm) get the shiny steel bead-blasted (hate fingerprints), and some thumb roughage at the top blade-handle joint.

I know, apples into oranges, but it's a pet project. Got me plenty of time, patience, etc. Might be fun to do it myself, but the initial startup isn't really practical at this time, and I'd rather learn on a kit. Guess I'm fishing for a re-builder.

Any recommendations or resources would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for your time.

As a folder maker I would recommend you have a custom knife made after the pattern of the one you like. If I understand correctly you want your knife rebuilt. It would be easier just to make a new one. Maybe someone here can help you with that I am just to far behind. GoodLuck !

I agree with heatride I would either have a custom knife made or if its out of your price range look for something that suits you needs that is already on the market.

Thanks, I apreciate your help and advice. So, I'll keep looking.
The quest for the perfect blade continues....
