I have like $200.00 for a knife . I want a large folder with good edge holding ! I could spend a little extra . but not a whole lot .
I would like it to be a heavy duty knife that will last a long time .

You didn't say how long you wanted the blade but I have two suggestions, the large Sebenza which will cost a bit more or a Microtech LCC manual. I have both and love them.

Buck/Mayo comes to my mind. I don't have one, but from what I've heard and read, it's an awesome knife.

If you wanna spend a little more, you could pick up a used Sebenza.

I'd recommend you get a Greco folder and spend the rest on other things.

If you are simply looking for an extremely tough working folder you can easily pay much more, but it won't actually get you any increased functionality as long as the design suits you.

They are craaaazy tough, and effectively unbreakable. I've emailed John Greco and he is a good guy who stand behind his product 100%. I doubt that I'll ever have to take him up on this, but according to some other posts that I've seen around here he will replace a broken Greco no matter what even if you break it on purpose. Can't beat that.

I agree the Sebbie recommendation. Save up a little more to get a new one or look for a used on the Exchange forum. You won't be sorry. Good luck.

I would say around the size of a benchmade 710 or a little bigger.
I dont really care for spyderco knives . I have two but I aint crazy about them. I also would love to get a delta z knife but cant find any around . Any input on the deltas would be very welcomed :) Links Links :)I have a greco whisper and love that . I was hoping to pick up a greco folder at a knife show oneday , or maybe another one of his sales.

... you can get a couple of Buck Strider folders online from reputable dealers. I have seen them but not handled them. I have heard they are darn tough folders and robust as heck. Some of the others I have been looking at is the Ken Onion designed SpeedSafe folders such as the Boa, Chive, and Scallion. You can get a handful of those if you look. Try Discount Knives, Knifeworks, and New Graham Knives. They are all excellent dealers. Good luck!

Kennieyk, I hate to break it to you but Delta-Z went out of business. However, I got two Osprey's in the big going out of business sale, one with G-10 handles and one with the maple burl. I might be interested in selling the maple burl model, send me an e-mail if you'd like more information. It's a nice knife, just not for me.

I know they did :( Thats why i said I cant find any around . I thought there may be a few out there some where .. I just wanna try and get one while I can. Thanks I may take you up on your offer :)
I would also like a plain edge !!!

How about a SOG Tomcat? And eventho you don't seem to want to go Spyderco, the Chinook might still be worth a look.

Well If I was to get another spydie it would be the Chinook . I just dont care for the shape or hole in the blades :(

If you wanna go BIG, then you might want to take a look at the MaXX 5.5. Otherwise, since you already have a Greco, I'd get the Buck/Mayo. Or save enough for a Sebbie. Just remembered, you might want to look at the BM 940ti as well.

many of the BM axis lock models seem to fit your description, so does the Al Mar sere, spyderco is always a good one, and for 200 bucks you can get one of the manual MTs.

Kennieyk,
I was at the Brigade Quartermaster's website last night and they claim to have a few Delta Z Osprey's left, selling them on closeout. They may in fact be gone, I don't know how often they update but it's worth a shot. Good Luck. I don't know the web address unfortunately, but do a search for Brigade Quartermasters and it will come up. It has something like actiongear in the web address. Then just type in knives, or Delta Z and it should come up.

edited to add the following:

I found the link that will take you right into the listing, they don't appear to be sold out yet. Good luck.

Or check out ebay.
I bought 2 Ospreys earlier this month for $51.
Yes, it's true (although I did a side deal with the guy offline to get 2, not really using ebay)

how about bladetech's tim wegner prohunter? it features 3.6inch blades with S30V steel, and has received favourable reviews (some even saying that it's better than the original spydie version). Best of all, the g10 version can be had for under $100

As for the remaining $100, you could send it my way and contribute to my Searching for Wayne Hendrix Knife Fund :p ;) :D

Well, I have read all the suggestions and they are all very well thought out. We have a Delta Z set in the exchange section. Spyderco, CRKT, Reeve's! All are good! Paul

For a heavy duty long lasting knife I feel a Buck 110 will beat many of the modern tacticals.

For well under $200 you can get one in ATS34 or BG42 with fancy handles from Buck´s site:

Hit the P.C.K.S. button and check it out.
