Well, this knife was too long to edge heat treat using my methods so its the only fully hardened B.Goode camp knife to date. Thought you'd enjoy the pictures.

That's a dandy Brian:thumbup: That beauty will be very handy around a campsite.

Nick:)

oh yeah - nothing better than a nice tall flat grind to get the job done. This one will be headed to Japan in about a week so she will be missed:D

With the full heat treatment your usual hamon is lost looks like?

All the way to Japan, Wow!

oh yeah, no hammon on this one. Still look slike a B.Goode knife though. I was worried about that one. I have several in Japan and Hong Kong. I loose Track of the places but I am lucky to have about 10 knives overseas I think.

Awsome work Brian.
That looks like the perfect camp knife.

Strong international following for 10 years, ;) that's speaks volume of your work. Especially in Japan, I would suspect they are very strick on extremely high grade quality.

I like it shape and the grind lines are perfect.

Do you have a forge where you could, perhaps, preheat the spine (to just behind the point) with the torch and then bring the blade to critical in the forge before quenching?

Best regards,
Dana

Dana,
I have an evenheat oven. 0-1 isnt real fond of temper lines if the spine gets the least bit too hot so I just went with no temperline. Still looks pretty good;)

I agree, even without a temper line, that's a pretty sweet lookin' piece! I also love that handle
shape. You've got that design down pat!

Dana

thanks Dana,
Wouldnt mind keeping this one myself:thumbup:

no, its just the standard etch but left really dark. I hope my knives get used so the look of the knife should get that used look anyways. Gun Coat leaves a thick surface I just dont care for on knives or maybe I just havent seen that finish enough to know better.

Looks good Brian!

Have I seen one of these before....:D

Tom

Yours has cooler handle scales :)
