Dear ,

I apologize for the late answer,
we suspected that Frank Miller ( the only one we had relations with) was not
a correct person but was cooperating in a correct way and he seems to be
well involved in this operation, he was making good sales in USA and we
didn't have nothing to complain.
Problems will happen when he settled up the Extrema Ratio USA company
without our authorization, then his own web site using our logo without our
authorization again.
We had to stop the collaboration when he started to insist to produce our
knives under license in USA.
Everything was going commercially well, we was surprised about the Frank
Miller capability to destroy a well running business without an clear
reason.
He left the last invoices unpaid (around $ 40.000) and we was not able to
contact him again.
I will be honest with you, suing him from Italy could have a cost higher
than the money he owe to us and we are actually economically involved in a
very expensive development program (a new bayonet).
I will be glad to cooperate giving you all the information you need to stop
this dangerous person and , if possible, to have our money back.

As I anticipate you, we are actually concentrating on the military market
and we will be glad to evaluate a possible collaboration with you, I should
be very curious to see your production, do you have a web site?
I'm at your disposal for any further information.

Best Regards

Good Old Frank what a GUY!!!!!

VERY interesting, I would like to see this matter resolved between them. I sure hope ER will still have a presence in the US market as they make a good knife. This still doesn't make sense though as from what I've heard frank backed the ER product 110% when ever there was a problem.

Sounds like Extrema Ratio Italy isn't exactly who he appears to be... why register with that name unless he was just trying to smear Frank? Furthermore, why would ER Italy divuldge this stuff publicly; that's a lawsuit waiting to happen?

I don't think we're getting the full story

WTF?? And now the forum is off the board as well??

Anyone care to comment?? Also, what do we do if we have a warranty claim? Ship the kives back to Italy??

Read that last paragraph again from Mr. Castrati. It sounds like "extrema ratio italy" is the one who wants to go into business making knives for them, and he's pretending that's Frank's sin?

This guy is an obvious liar.

What an unfortunate last name!

Frank seemed pretty on the level to me...first thing bad I've heard re: him. I agree this is a fake.

It's just someone with a personal problem with Frank. This poster pops up on occasion and trys to start things.

Frank,

Do you owe ER money?

Did you insist on making the ER knife in the USA?

If no to both sue ER italy for the post.

Move on with your new business.

I will wait to hear from Frank, I am sure he has seen this mess already.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :p

Another first time poster sincerely concerned about The Truth !!!

I'm willing to bet that this guy is none other than Todd Bailey, from Special Weapons. A simple search on Special Weapons LLC or Todd Bailey on any of the firearms forums will turn up tons of stories where he acts like this and in general, is a troll. Since this was posted on Todd's own forums as well, I'm not suprised at the motives

It takes a truly small man to hide behind a screen name and trash someone else, but this isn't a new MO for certain people.

Good questions, sorry I don't have the answers. Are Extreme Ratios knives still available in the U.S. from another source?

It reads as if the annonnymous poster contacted ER and then posted the reply.

They chose to remain anonymous and posted what seems to be a private communication.

There are two sides to every story. It's a private matter between Frank Miller and Extrema Ratio but I for one would love to know the whole.

I have e-mailed ER with details of this thread, perhaps they will post.

Definitely a troll. If this poster really was ER Italy it would say extrema ratio italia, not italy.

Also, check out the refined punctuation. The poster wanted to throw off the reader by having poor English syntax or grammar, but failed to alter the punctuation accordingly.

An example:

"I will be glad to cooperate giving you all the information you need to stop this dangerous person and , if possible, to have our money back."

What European would have been able to refine this degree of punctuation in a sentence, while still not able to construct accurate syntax? Most Americans can't even get this type of "and" clause correct, punctually speaking.

Not a troll.
I contacted ER Italy and had a reply that explains some of it.
I think it is a matter between ER and Frank Miller so I shant paste the reply without their permission.

Hmmmm.... The bottom line is ER needs to clarify this some way, so the ER followers on BF will feel a little easier about buying an ER. Of course this may not happen since they are not based in US. I guess this would depend on sales here.
And of course I probably don't know what I am talking about, just hoping there will be a resolution to the confusion. :( .

The fact of the matter remains that ER-USA, under Frank, treated us consumers like Gods. He respected our input, asked for more, and always delivered his end - be it for a product or for service.

Until ER-Italy comes forward, OFFICIALLY AND WITHOUT DISPUTE AS TO ORIGIN, to clear up this issue, it is my humble opinion that posts such as this thread origin erodes our collective US-consumer faith in the ER brand, and this situation must be rectified if ER expects to survive, not in the least bit compete, in this segment of the market, populated by the likes of Strider, Busse, Emerson, etc.

Customer care, be it for an individual collector or a hard-working crew who were issued such blades, has always been of utmost importance when it comes to these potentially life-and-death tools. Without ER coming forward to address our concerns, this certainly has made myself, an owner of multiple ER knives, cease recommendations for this brand, and I have seen many others also go along this route.

Our doubts must be addressed.
