I am looking to upgrade my EDC and the Extrema Ratio BF2 folder looks like a nice fit. Does anyone have any experience with this knife. I have looked at the Extrema Ratio thread but could not find anything on it. I want a tough, quality, EDC and I cannot afford their heavy duty folders (and probably would be overkill for me). Any opinions on this knife would be appreciated. Thanks.

as far as I know the prices are too HIGH for the quality of the steel used (n690co) and have read more bad than good about their knives, handled a few and did not like them, BF are rather slippery.

that's my opinion, just mine from what i've seen and handled.
I'd suggest a better steeled knife for the money.

i've never heard anything bad about ER, i have had a fulcrum and nemisis and they were both great knives, probably as heavy duty as anything else i have had and i've had strider AR's, SnG's and SmF's FWIW, that said i havent handled any of the new ones from ER, but i would think they would be as good as the old ones.

I'm curious what you think would be a better steel than N690CO. It has a good reputation here in more than just the Extrema Ratio.

They aren't outrageously expensive but are more than most people are willing to pay for an EDC. I've got a Nemesis which has seen some hard use, and I just got an MPC yesterday, the same knife really with a broader blade (and serrations).

ER make good knives, Iv got a few of them and have only good things to say.

The MPC is prbably my favorte folder from them and the Shrapnel is a great small fixed blade. Iv had good use out of both of those knives and they have held up really well.
