A fixed blade for life huh.....that sounds like Busse combat knife.
I don't own the model you were asking for, but i owned the Fulcrum. I like the blade, but I still recommand you to take a bit time to find a Busse Natural Outlaw. It might be time consuming but its definately worth it.
Reasons are: Busse handle is more comfort in hand. Blades are in the same thickness, yet Busse grinding is more to my preference. Right out of the box, Busse is definately sharper.
Both are good company, good blades. Busse might not be super Rambo looking, but the design will last for the practical.
