Hi all!

I have been reading the archives, and the Extrema Ratio folders seemed to be really hot items for awhile, and then it was like they dropped off the face of the earth.

What happened?
Was there some bad experiences or something?
They seemed to be pretty good to me, from what I read in the archives about them.

They seemed to be hot while they were getting promoted by a dealer here in the US. Once that person stopped promoting them, then it quieted down.

I've got one and it's fantastic (Nemesis Folder). Not the best slicer in the world but that's not why I got it. You could pry someone out of a tank with this beasty ;)

DaveH I think hit it on the head. After the american rep dropped the line they fell from public site. The former distributer then started Dark Ops (or Dork Ops depending on who you talk with).

Another nugget I gleaned was the original distributor promised exclusive territories/deals and then backed out of the deal causing a lot of people to drop the line. Not too sure if that's true or not.

Either way, I've got a Nemesis folder, a huge fixed blade on it's way and am still looking for a MPC Folder :D

I've got a Fulcrum IID, and it's a great knife...big but not HUGE, tough beyond comparison (I know that the Strider crowd may disagree with that), and still pretty usable. I had understood that E.R. had some new US distribution channels set up, since the D.O. debacle, FWIW. Ultimately they've really belonged to a fairly small niche market up until recently, when they introduced some smaller less obscenely-sturdy "light duty" (in name) knives, which may ultimately have more mass market appeal. I guess that time will tell.

I've got a Nemesis also, and rate it as heavy-duty as any folder out there. I don't think they were ever a major seller, but they did well here because Frank was extremely responsive. They still make great knives, and I like the looks of many of the newer models.
