I've recently become interested in the knife from Extrema Ratio called the Panther. It's very similar in design to the Fox Bantay because they were designed by the same guy. Found a website with the Panther in stock thats asking for a ridiculous amount of money. Were talking like prices that Hinderers sell for on the secondary market. Here are the specs. I really like this knife but do not think it is worth this price AT ALL. Will prolly just end up sticking with the Fox Bantay just the main difference being the Bantay isnt as large of a blade and isnt double edged....sigh oh well

*Extrema Ratio "Panther". *

Design by Borut Kincl from Slovenia

A special production for the Slovenian special forces

300 pieces made only

4.5 inch blade, G-10 handle, N690 steel.

Double edge heavy duty folder.

Very Rare and very hard to find.

*price 870$

* status:in stock

This might be the single ugliest knife I've ever seen. :barf:

To each his own, I guess, but I'm a little perplexed that this little abortion of a knife is selling for $870.

I'm hoping that was a typo, DM.

Ugly, yes, worth $870$ Oh, no.

I'm entitled to my opinion, and a man should steer clear of that thing......

You mean the price tag? Yes, I should hope so. Nevermind the design itself, there's no way a knife made of G10 and N690 should cost even so much as an eighth of that price...

"very rare and very hard to find" is a relative term ;)

if you are looking for a military style folding knife, take a look at emerson knives or zero tolerance knives.

in my opinion extrema ratio is overpriced. i had the MF2 and got my money back after 2 weeks. their fixed blades seem nice, but for their prices i'd buy a ZT or even a Strider/ Reeves

Ya I was mainly just in awe and absolute shock when I saw the price. Just got on the list for the Fitzen and Weiland folder collaboration and even that doesn't cost 870 and it uses much nicer materials and has a lot bigger blade. Even comes with a kydex sheath :)

Crazy price, but I do like some of ER's line. Doubt I'll own one any time soon, though. Their original Doberman (?) fixed blade was cool, though. Haven't found one for sale in years.

As for the above, I don't mind the overall style nearly as much as that crazy price tag (that huge cut-out does bother me, I'll admit). If it were $100-150, fine. But pushing $1000 is nuts.

I have one ER Knife, the BF3... The quality is absolutely phenomenal, for the 170 I think i paid for it??? Maybe more or less can't recall... It doesn't match up to the quality of my CRks or anything but for 170 I was impressed, I only bought it cause I liked the long warncliffe style blade, slim design. I don't understand however why that one up there, is 870?! Unless it's just for sprint run reasons or something.... as to how it looks.... ummmm to each his own.
