Extrema Ratio POLICE III & POLICE EVO: pics and test

Hi everybody!

I had recently the chance to try two new multitools by Extrema Ratio: the POLICE III and the POLICE EVO

As usual for Extrema Ratio, fit and finish are top quality





Besides the main blade, both the POLICE EVO and the POLICE III had an emergency blade (belt cutting blad) with automatic opening

The POLICE EVO has also several more tools: wood saw, file, can/bottle opener, magnetic screwdriver with interchangeable tips

On the front of the handle you may place the saw, or the file or the can/bottle opener

All tools are ready in the cordura sheath


Two carry options: metallic pocket clip


or MOLLE system




Let’s test the POLICE EVO. The saw has the same dimension of the saw of a Victorinox Outrider

and the efficiency is the same, just great: I cutted down this branch 25 mm diameter in less than a minute


The file: I used it on a big nail, it’s works fairly well



Can opener: great efficiency, just great


The main blade is really sharp

You may block the blade by the specific button, locking the liner in open position

with this blade it’s easy to carve wood

so doing feathers for a camp fire




Conclusions: both the Extrema Ratio POLICE III and the POLICE EVO are great multitools, with some smart solutions and great fit and finish. I suggest the POLICE III for people looking an emergency tool for the urban environment. The POLICE EVO, with several more tools, is great also for outdoors activities/expeditions.

I am more of a fan of the POLICE EVO just because it has that additional safety lock for the auto button
