I just happened across their site and found this multi-bladed rescue tool thing. Has anyone ever handled one before? For some reason, it's pretty appealing to me, but I'm wondering how well executed it is. Also, where are some good places to find ER knives? The few online stores I've found so far don't seem to have much selection at all. thanks

The R.E.S. is a great knife for search and rescue groups. That is what the Italian manufacturer's design was intented for those types of uses. It is a powerful knife made of quality colbalt steel. Check www.exxcess.info for more info on R.E.S.

Hi Trout,

I grew up right outside of Asheville - in the little cove called Leicester.

Anyway, the R.E.S looks like an awesome knife.
I had a ER Fulcrum II at one time, and really liked the steel, but the blade stock was just too thick to do the everyday cutting I wanted.
Looks like they did it right on the R.E.S.

Be Well.

i have seen them on a Paris Blade Show last saturday.
Personnaly, find it too heavy to be usefull...
One of the blade is automatic, so you have to check if it's legal in your state.
