I unintentionally discovered a Blade shop in downtown Geneve and they happened to have a load of Extrema Ratio's in stock. I handled the Nemesis folder and the Shrapnel fixed. Well, my doubts about the grip geometry of these products have been dispelled. They are great to handle and are built 'Soldier Proof'. The Nemesis grip seems too long for the blade until you realise that it's a purpose built knife that marries a sharpened spike to a beefy, one-size fits all handle that must be great when handled with gloves.
I couldn't shave hair with the Nemesis but I now realise it's not that kind of a blade. I can see cable being cut, barrels and boxes being breeched and rope cut with it. The Shrapnel was surprisingly compact and the grip is absolutely the smalles on a tactical that I've ever seen. I wanted to compare the Shrapnel to the Trident/Crusader TCFM XL and the comparison is apt unless you compare weights. The Shrapnel is noticeably lighter.I'm guessing it's not full tang.
I also like that the Nemesis could be pressed into heavy duty service, thanks to a safety plunge-lock on the blade.
Were it not for the Trident/Crusader TCFM XL, the Shrapnel would have to be the best in its class.
