lately iver noticed that the biggest knife function ( or knife nutts 'truely worthy' reason 4 owning knives) is whittling.

i can honestly say ive never had the pleasure of whittling....

so,as there are so many knife nutt members here..who, all partake in the extream fruitfull extreme sport that whittling obviously is....

That's all well and good, but those events are for amatuers. The real event is Reverse Whittling. Never heard of it? I'm not surprised. It take real skill and patience to reverse whittle a piece of wood. Here is one of my masterpieces. It started by looking like this.

Until I whittled it into a stick, as shown below.

In fact, I'm working on reverse whittling a large oak tree in our back yard. I've been working on it for the past 5 years (man, you should have seen the look on the Home Depot guy's face when I ordered a chunk of basswood that was 80 ft x 40 ft).
