A friend of mine, who operates a gunsmith business part time, tried to purchase two K-Bar Extreme folders in D2 and found out that K-Bar has stopped production on this knife. The reason that two wholesalers and K-Bar gave was cost of production, mainly the cost of the D2 steel, and the heat/temper/cryo cost. I have had the opportunity to handle and use one of these a little and it seems a shame that they cut this knife from their inventory.
 
Thanks for the info. I called him and he said that he had located a couple of them at a wholesaler in Louisana. He could only find the clip point and he was looking for the drop point version. He settled for the clip point.
