Extremely Bad News .... Help Needed

I just got a call from Ima at Koval Knives.

Judy Koval has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and her time is short.

She has been on Chemo for a while now with no success.

At this point Koval will be closing unless something else happens.

Koval is offering a 20 percent discount on all items in stock starting Monday.

If you need something please help them get the shop cleared for the bad situation that is coming soon.

This is very sad news Darrel. I have been doing business with the Kovals since 98. They have always been the most gracious of people and have a long history of supporting the hand made knife industry. Not much to say. Just really bummed. Thanks for letting us know, Fred :(
 
Really sorry to hear that, we've had cancer in my family too and I know how horrible it can be. Prayers going out for her, hoping she can find some peace and comfort in these trying times. Prayers for her family as well. I'll hopefully be able to put together an order here in the next couple days also.
 
her husband just pasted with cancer too didn't he? I hope my memory is wrong My regards go out to her and the family..

I really hate hearing this. We have a very good friend that was just diagnosed with lung cancer and has little time also. It is very sad to see this happen to anyone and my thoughts and prayers will be with Judy also.

I need a few things, so I'll call them tomorrow.

Koval has always been my main supplier up until Mick passed away. After that, it was hard to find what I wanted in stock. I always bought my ATS34 and 154CM from them because they were the only ones who sold it flat ground.

I bought my Wilton band saw from Mick over the phone years ago.

Sad day for all. :(
 
Very sorry to hear this very bad and very sad news,was in there last week and got a feeling something was wrong.and i realy hate to hear this news.Both Mick,Judy, Troy,Ima and Scott have been very good and kind to me. Really hate to hear this,{May GOD bless and watch over them in this time of sorrow} Prayer can change things.The Prayers of a rightous man availthe much.

Mick died last spring.
 
This has been a rough year on the custom knife making field, so many good people going through so much....

I'll be sending prayers, thoughts, and an order along shortly.
 
I'm sorry to hear this, I've never bought a lot of stuff from Koval, but what I have has been top notch and friendly service. And it seems they always went out of there way for the knifemaker. I'll be making up and order too, hate to see a good deal pass by and maybe I can help them in a small way. :(

The sad thing is that Mick and Judy helped and gave to the knifemaking comunity for 30 plus years. This is the ime in life that they were suppose to take it ease and let the kids take over. Mick took his own life a few months back the then this for Judy. This is pretty sad stuff.
 
This is very sad news, I just place a small order with them last Thurs. I don't know who I spoke to. May god be with her and comfort the family in this time of dire need.
 
Bruce,Well I have one blockage yet,Blocked 60%,I go back to my heart doctor Tues. to see what he has to say,I can't do a whole lot without getting out of wind and still have chest pain.This was the second heart attach in the last 4 years. I would like to retire if I can swing it.One good thing is that my Doc. is a knife collector.My press is acting up also the dag gone thing will not build up pressure all the time.If it don't get to cold and the weather holds we will still get together if you guys want.I do need to stop at Kovals and pick up some 440ss to try to weld some SS damascus I do belive I can do it.But I need some 1095 and 0-1 too.
 
Very sad news...Tough to hear that a member of our community may be lost.

I just placed an order, the two people i talked to on the phone sounded really down, this is very sad. They are out of a lot of stuff but they still have some ATS-34 hot bolled in 1/8 thickness, they still have 1/8 paper and linen micarta, eggerling damascus bolsters and ivory.

I sort of felt like a vulture, like i was taking advantage of someone elses misfortune, but it sounds like they really do need to get rid of this stuff. please make an order if you can.
 
I just placed a nice order for some belts and a little 1x30 belt Loray sharpening machine. One minor correction; the 20% discount doesn't apply to machines.
