extremely minor up down play on my griptilian

My full size Griptilian has no side to side play at all, and the centering is literally perfect, but I do hear a single click sound when I test for up and down play. Anyone ever had this/know how to fix it, should I just chock it up to the old "pretty much every knife has some kind of play" and leave it at that?

My son's grip has this. The metal liners appear to be shifting ever so slightly in the plastic handles. I haven't tried disassembly/reassembly yet.

Yeah that's exactly what I think is happening with mine, though I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done. I haven't tried taking it apart either.

The same is happening w/ my S30V Grip (full size). I broke it down to clean it and after re-assembly the liners/blade assy still "rock" up and down in the plastic liners. The blade itself seems to be locked in very tightly to the metal sub-frame with the Axis lock.

If the liners are moving in the scales try tightening all the screws.

I've checked all my screws (having the same issue) and they'll all tight. Other than this, the knife is fine: smooth action, tight lock-up, and no side-to-side blade play. I haven't seen enough Grips to know if this is "normal."

Yeah I check all the screws as well, they were all able to take the slightest of turns maybe 1/10th of a full turn but it didn't make any difference. I guess its not a big deal, it's extremely minor and only noticable if you're trying to make it happen.

Edit: I was able to fix it by tightening down the pivot screw, it made the deployment a little stiff at first but after opening and closing it 20 or so times its perfectly fine.

Radial blade play is usually something we can't fix, but a trip to Lifesharp will remedy the problem. Glad to read that 'Hazy' fixed his...there are a number of published fixes found through running a search, but most of these are directed at side to side intead.
